The position involves owning the overall strategy for specific product categories, which includes managing supplier relationships, performance management, sourcing strategies, and new product introductions. The role requires developing and delivering long-term sourcing strategies, leading key initiatives with cross-functional teams, and driving the decision-making process of the category roadmap with leadership. The individual will also drive commercial relationships with suppliers to achieve optimal cost and performance, manage end-to-end RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, and lead contract negotiations to minimize risk exposure and enforce supplier accountability. Additionally, the role involves analyzing data to draw conclusions and communicate findings to all levels of the organization, developing reporting frameworks to communicate sourcing status and supplier performance, and identifying opportunities for product expansion and new product introductions.
