About The Position

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a Sr. QA Engineer to join our team. Job Summary: The Senior QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications through advanced testing practices, leadership, and collaboration across development, product, and operations teams. This role combines hands-on test design and execution with mentoring, process improvement, and automation strategy to drive high-quality product releases. The Senior QA Engineer acts as a quality advocate, ensuring requirements are met, risks are identified early, and defects are minimized before release. Requirements

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5–8+ years of experience in software QA, with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead role.
Maintains a professional image and adheres to standards consistent with company policies and procedures.
Ability to perform in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of Software QA best practices and methodologies.
Expert proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, OneNote, and Google Docs.
Experience testing for PCI/PII compliance.
Experience with communication tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Skype, etc.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Gherkin language for Cucumber automation tool a plus.
Experience in Agile – SCRUM, and DevOps is a plus.
Experience testing customer-facing website, mobile app and payment processing.
Experience testing 3rd party interfaces (DMV lookup, money service providers, Mailhouse etc).
Experience testing cloud-based applications or distributed systems.
Experience in Tolling industry a plus.
Experience with iOS/Android mobile app testing a plus.
Experience with test automation a plus.
Experience with measuring live system performance a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans, and test cases across web, mobile, API, and backend systems.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure testability and quality are built into requirements and design.
Perform manual functional, regression, and integration testing as needed.
Provide clear test artifact documentation on test case execution results.
Log bugs/issues via an issue tracking tool and help determine priority of reported bugs.
Provide clear test artifact documentation on test case execution results.
Report on test progress, coverage, defect trends, and release readiness to project stakeholders.
Support and collaborate with the automation team to develop, maintain, and scale automated test frameworks.
Coordinate with QA Manager to track test and defect status throughout the SDLC
Mentor and guide junior QA team members, providing technical leadership and promoting best practices.
Provide maintenance test support by executing software release smoke, sanity, and regression testing.
Handle special projects or other duties as may be required from time to time.
