This team is on the front lines, designing and deploying the support backbone for the future of autonomy: the Tesla Robotaxi fleet and the Optimus humanoid robot. As a Software Integration Engineer, you will architect and build the software that powers the diagnostic equipment, automated service systems, and maintenance hardware for these groundbreaking platforms. Requirements
- A versatile, multi-talented engineer with a proven ability to work across different engineering disciplines (software, mechanical, electrical) to create cohesive solutions
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development, automation, or a related field
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++
- Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, including design patterns, algorithms, and testing methodologies
- Experience with automation technologies and robotics; familiarity with machine learning concepts is a plus
- Demonstrated excellence in problem-solving from first principles. Solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes to effectively integrate software with physical hardware and automation equipment
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop robust software solutions for the service equipment and automated systems supporting the Tesla Robotaxi and Optimus robot programs
- Develop and deploy software for diagnostic and service equipment supporting all vehicle platforms for our global service centers
- Collaborate with cross-functional design and manufacturing teams to define software requirements for new and existing products
- Drive the evolution of the team's capabilities by pioneering more advanced, intelligent, and integrated tooling systems
- Validate your designs through hands-on prototyping and testing in close collaboration with expert engineering and service technicians
- Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including well-commented code, system diagrams, and operational specifications
