Role Summary Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is continuing to support new product launches and manufacturing capabilities. Doing so in a scalable and well planned manner is critical to our future, customers success, and in building products for the future of the automotive industry. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work with our partner Rivian to integrate vehicle software with our factory systems. Success in this role would mean launch of new vehicles, and efficiency improvements that impact the full organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience working on complex, cross-functional, distributed software systems
  • Experience with networked embedded systems (CAN, Ethernet, LIN, DOIP, ISOTP)
  • Experience developing or integrating network attached systems (Telematics, Linux, TCP/IP, HTTP)
  • Experience with networking tools (Putty, Vector tools, SSH/SCP, Wireshark, netstat)
  • Strong integration and bring up skills.
  • Experience working with manufacturing teams or in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high growth environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing for embedded systems in C/C++/Rust/Golang/Python/Qt
  • Experience working in configuration management on a complex electromechanical product (Agricultural, Automotive, Aerospace, Defense, Manufacturing)
  • Experience with systems engineering and common systems analysis practices
  • Experience with data reporting tools (Hex, SQL, Databricks, Snowflake, R)
  • Experience with messaging strategies (MQTT, NATS, UDP/TCP, API design)
  • Experience with event driven commissioning processes
  • Experience with remotely connected systems
  • Experience in manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

  • Drive end to end execution of vehicle software bring up; taking on integration, testing, issue escalation, resolution, and complete software commissioning on vehicles in production.
  • Bring up of initial pilot builds and introduction of new products into the final series assembly location.
  • Working with stakeholders in vehicle software and manufacturing teams to arbitrate discussion, development, and issue resolution.
  • Defining and driving development of new commissioning processes and reporting strategies.
  • Drive important metrics for vehicle software through the manufacturing such as yield, build rate, and cost to business.
