VMware Tools team of VCF division of VMware by Broadcom is responsible for delivering a set of services that enable several features in VCF that interact with guest operating systems to improve management and enable seamless user interactions. VMware Tools for Windows is a collection of kernel drivers and user space services that run inside virtual machines. VMware Tools for Linux is a collection of user space services provided in the form of open-vm-tools which is packaged in all major Linux distributions. VMware Tools provides a two-way interface and glue between the virtualization host and the virtual machine's guest operating system so both sides can cooperate. It enables various functionality like soft power operations, guest automation APIs, guest filesystem quiescing, gathering guest information and more. Building VMware Tools functionality requires working on guest components as well as vSphere services. We are looking for highly motivated and talented software engineers. This role provides an opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and interesting problems that we are solving on the industry-proven VCF. The ideal candidate must have a passion for user experience, blended with a very strong systems design background, enterprise software development experience with a key focus on the quality of product and security.
