About The Position

The ARISE Analytics - Platform team is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Software Engineer to join our team. On this team you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining the underlying platforms that enable our developers to build, deploy, and manage applications efficiently. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our platforms are scalable, secure, and meet the evolving needs of our business. The ARISE Analytics team works closely with A/AI Research engineers, so a working understanding of Machine Learning principles is desirable. Candidates applying to this position should have a Bachelor's degree, or greater, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or an equivalent field with significant software development experience. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, DevOps, or a related field
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python or C++
  • Basic understanding of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts and tools, such as AWS CloudFormation or Azure Resource Manager
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps concepts, such as Continuous Delivery and Observability
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with platform engineering tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, or Kubernetes
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks, such as NIST or OWASP
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI
  • Certification in cloud computing, DevOps, or a related field (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Certified Scrum Master, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other platform engineers to design, develop, and deploy services such as CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and service meshes
  • Develop and maintain platform automation scripts and tools using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Participate in the development of platform architecture and ensure alignment with business requirements
  • Work with development teams to onboard applications onto the platform and provide support for platform-related issues
  • Monitor platform performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure platform security and compliance
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve platform capabilities
  • Document platform architecture, design decisions, and operational procedures
