Summary of Role & Responsibilities The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for leading/facilitating technical design sessions and being the lead overseer for the architecture of our Vision Tax application. The Senior Software Engineer will be expected to collaborate with subject matter experts to efficiently and successfully implement or maintain application features using C# and VB. Key roles & responsibilities include Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable architecture for Tax applications. Develop and maintain core features using C# (.NET) and VB (VB.NET or legacy modernization). Collaborate with Product Management, Customer Support, and internal tax domain experts to translate requirements into technical solutions. Ensure compliance with Ohio tax regulations and data security standards. Perform code reviews, mentor developers, and help establish or improve best practices. Contribute to build and branch management for efficient release cycles.   • Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable architecture for Tax applications.
  • Develop and maintain core features using C# (.NET) and VB (VB.NET or legacy modernization).
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Customer Support, and internal tax domain experts to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with Ohio tax regulations and data security standards.
  • Perform code reviews, mentor developers, and help establish or improve best practices.
  • Contribute to build and branch management for efficient release cycles.
  • 7+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in C# and VB
  • Proven experience in technical design and application architecture for enterprise systems
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented principles, SOLID design, and secure coding practices
  • Experience with SQL Server and data modeling for financial or tax-related data
  • In-depth knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Modernization of legacy VB systems to .NET Core
  • Familiarity with tax compliance frameworks and audit requirements
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Flexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment

  • Working knowledge of Ohio Tax laws and operational practices a plus
