Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered, as a software engineer, or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered, as a software engineer, or a related occupation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deploy software applications and services that handle all types of PayPal transactions.
  • Design and build for reliability, availability, scalability and performance in Restful Services in a commercial setting.
  • Test, troubleshoot and solve technical issues for software features and functions delivered via applications and services.
  • Write elegant, readable, and maintainable software code.
  • Identify opportunities for software performance tuning and ensure that the software applications and services are available and reliable.
  • Participate in requirement walkthroughs and software design discussions.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, architects, and database administrators using agile methodologies to deliver high quality software solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to testing goals and principles.
