Sr. Software Engineer Internal Lilly title for this role will be Computational Statistician. This role provides software development and process improvement support for research scientists (Discovery, Development, and Manufacturing).

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with software development experience (OR) Bachelor degree with two or more years of software development experience
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States
  • R/Shiny expertise or demonstrated ability to quickly become proficient as shown through the mastery of multiple other languages
  • Unix/Linux skills
  • Prior experience with and demonstrated understanding of Version Control
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and strategic thinking

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement computational workflows that support statistical and scientific needs
  • Lead the development of analysis applications that are highly usable, scalable, and maintainable
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation
  • Develop technical solutions that enhance scientific research and computational methodologies
  • Streamline data processing and software tools
  • Act as a computational and software leader by taking ownership of solutions from conceptualization to implementation
  • Communicate sophisticated computational concepts clearly to non-technical users
  • Perform work in full compliance with applicable corporate, local, and departmental policies and processes
  • Validate programs and workflows to meet required standards
