The Senior Software Engineering Supervisor at Honeywell is responsible for overseeing the engineering execution and management of customer projects, ensuring they are completed within the agreed technical scope, schedule, and budget. This role involves supporting the Engineering Manager in driving productivity, maintaining project budgets, and ensuring adherence to engineering standards and processes.

  • Assist Project Engineering Manager in defining processes for project execution including presale support and turnover to implementation.
  • Support productivity metrics for the project engineering department such as On Time Delivery and Project Deliverables.
  • Ensure project budgets are maintained by tracking schedules, resources, and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track AS-Sold vs AS-DESIGNED vs AS-BUILT scope and document changes as risks/opportunities.
  • Assist in ensuring standards are current and followed by the team.
  • Develop and enhance work processes and procedures as required.
  • Maintain KPIs under control including Billability and forecasting metrics.
  • Assist in executing project engineering tiered accountability on a weekly basis.
  • Define project engineering skillsets required for the team and develop plans to address skill gaps.
  • Manage department engineers effectively and maintain open communication.
  • Drive issues, changes, and improvements for better project execution.
  • Define and track performance measures for engineering projects.
  • Ensure effective communication with all disciplines and cross-functional groups.
  • Monitor and drive engineering standards and ensure alignment with product teams.
  • Manage internal and external customer communications and expectations.
  • Support customers through acceptance testing and escalate roadblocks.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least five years of hands-on experience in distribution center material handling systems.
  • At least four years of experience supervising or leading a technical team.
  • Ability to travel to site for supervision and customer PR up to 25% of the time.
  • Deep knowledge in C++, C#, and/or Java programming under Windows and/or Linux.
  • Deep knowledge in RDBMS such as MS SQL, Postgres, or Oracle.
  • Knowledge in SVN (Subversion) and GitHub source control.
  • Experience with Profibus, Ethernet, EtherCAT.
