For over 60 years, the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) team has supported the Navy's mission to provide affordable and credible strategic defense. The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence. What does this role look like? For this role, you will be joining the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Avionics organization committed to developing flight software for the missile system. They will join a team of Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC), Flight Software and Simulation engineers that design and develop mission critical Software subsystems for the FBM program. The duties for the position will lead and develop the Software Architecture for the program through all phases of the software development life cycle -- requirements, design, code, test, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software, or related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
  • Previous C/C++ development experience
  • Ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Software Architect role
  • Experience in multi-core and/or multi-processor systems
  • Experience in processor firmware and software (OS based) - software drivers and firmware wrappers.
  • Experience in processor and microprocessor firmware (non-OS based) - bare metal.
  • Experience with RISC-V systems.
  • Understanding of missile software systems.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent team orientation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills with management and peers.
