We’re looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join our Mobile Study team at Quizlet. You’ll work on our iOS and Android apps, building and improving the study features that power how millions of students learn with Quizlet. You’ll help shape the core functionality that keeps learners engaged and successful. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality mobile experiences. You’ll have the opportunity to influence technical direction, contribute to architecture decisions, and mentor other engineers while driving projects from ideation through release. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about creating intuitive, performant, and reliable mobile experiences that have a real impact on learners worldwide.

  • Design, build, and maintain high quality software supporting the core product
  • Collaborate closely with product and other cross-functional partners to define requirements and deliver solutions
  • Understand and operate in our existing systems and proactively suggest improvements and new ideas based on industry best practices
  • Drive incident investigations, post mortems, and retrospectives and effectively advocate for long-term improvements to systems and processes
  • Influence within your team for the right engineering improvements to increase quality of our software, testing, and processes
  • Multiple years of experience in mobile software development
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills on mobile software products
  • Proficiency in either iOS or Android development and some level of comfort with the other
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across a range of audiences
  • Experience with native Android, native iOS, and cross-platform mobile development approaches, including evaluating tradeoffs
  • Track record of influencing adjacent engineering teams of best practices or mobile client needs
  • Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a starting base salary of $165,000 - $205,000, depending on location and experience, as well as company stock options
