Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience developing products in JavaScript in either front-end and/or backend.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and experience in TypeScript is recommended.
- Knowledge of end-to-end OTT workflow and a solid understanding of various streaming technologies including codecs, Adaptive Bitrate, packaging, DRMs, CDNs, etc.
- Experience deploying and debugging on various platforms such as web, smart TVs, gaming consoles and set-top boxes.
- Recommended experience working on video playback technologies and MSE/EME APIs.
- Experience working with open source MSE/EME players such as Shaka and Video.js.
- Solid understanding of the underlying video player execution and ability to identify issues and improve overall performance and memory consumption.
- Good soft skills including communication and ability to collaborate with multiple teams in a global setting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability to changing requirements, and a mindset for analyzing and troubleshooting problems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and design high quality, maintainable features using industry-standard coding practices and principles.
- Collaborate with management to provide accurate time estimates for development tasks and support the team in meeting milestones through regular progress updates.
- Ensure and contribute to high performance of execution and provide a good user experience.
- Contribute to an in-house MSE/EME player library and its integration with video SDKs.
- Help ensure we provide a good playback experience across the different devices we support and help improve performance.
- Mentor and support junior engineers by providing constructive feedback, conducting code reviews, and maintaining high code quality best practices.
- Contribute ideas on how to improve and maintain best practices, coding standards and documentation among the team.
- Drive innovation and provide solutions to improve our products by staying current with emerging technologies and industry standards.
