About The Position

Calling all inventors to work on exciting new opportunities in Sponsored Ads. Amazon is building a world class advertising business and defining and delivering a collection of self-service performance advertising products that drive discovery and sales of merchandise. Our products are strategically important to our Retail and Marketplace businesses, driving long-term growth. Sponsored Ads helps merchants, retail vendors, and brand owners grows incremental sales of their products sold on Amazon through native advertising. Sponsored Ads achieves this by using a combination of machine learning, big data analytics, ultra-low latency high-volume engineering systems, and quantitative product focus. You will join a newly-founded team with a broad mandate to experiment and innovate, which will give you the flexibility to develop systems and services from the ground up. You will lead design/architecture efforts across the full-stack, partner with scientists to develop ML systems, and be a force-multiplier for other engineers on the team. Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
