About The Position

The Sr Software Development Engineer at Amazon is responsible for leveraging software engineering to enable automation, knowledge extraction, and artificial intelligence through various advanced technologies such as Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing. This role involves partnering with a team of scientists to create the necessary infrastructure for manufacturing processes that produce units on demand, thereby optimizing production and reducing waste. The engineer will define, design, implement, and test processes and infrastructure to support the development and monitoring of machine learning models, while also providing technical leadership across teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience dealing with manufacturing systems at scale

Responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation, and verification of components leveraging standard software engineering methodologies
• Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design
• Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high development standards
• Work with other teams to deliver and operate large scale, distributed services in the cloud
• Work on overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance
