About The Position

At Workday, we are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our UI Platform team. This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government, which requires all personnel working on these contracts to be United States citizens. You will be responsible for designing and developing cloud-scale web services in Java or Kotlin that power our mobile and web clients as part of an agile team. The technologies we use include Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Git, JUnit, Gradle, Mockito, Redis, RabbitMQ, Public and Private Clouds, microservices, and function-as-a-service. You will collaborate with team members across Workday to design, develop, and deploy end-to-end solutions, ensuring our services run reliably at cloud-scale and support our work in production via an on-call support rotation. This hybrid role is 50% office-based, supporting work-life balance and flexible working arrangements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience developing enterprise web applications or services in Java and Spring.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields, or equivalent experience.
• Experience delivering back-end services in microservice or event-driven architectures.
• Some frontend experience desirable, developing cross-platform web applications.
• Excited and passionate to learn new technologies and skills.
• Tenacious and logical problem solver.
• Experience in cloud-native architecture (Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Helm) and AWS technologies is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across the organization.
