Voya is seeking a Senior Technical Lead who will play a crucial role in designing business functions, applications, information, and infrastructure architectures. This position requires mastery-level skills in coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining components of information applications. The individual will lead the identification and definition of application architectures, components, and interfaces, as well as the design of data models, data/information flows, and security design. The role involves delivering software engineering designs and programs for new and existing products that meet business needs, while keeping current on best practices in technology and market trends. The Senior Technical Lead will also provide technical direction and coaching to software developers and associate software developers, ensuring adherence to organizational and IT policies for software development and project management.

  • Lead the identification and definition of applications architectures, components, and interfaces.
  • Design data models, data/information flows, and security design.
  • Deliver software engineering designs and programs for new and existing products.
  • Keep current on best practices in technology and market trends.
  • Identify data needs, including access, security, quality, and maintenance requirements.
  • Influence and communicate technical alternatives to business objectives.
  • Recommend design alternatives based on business needs.
  • Provide technical direction and coaching to software developers.
  • Adhere to organizational and IT policies for software development.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or a directly related field.
  • Six years of complex (multi-tiered) software development experience including two years of leadership experience.
  • Proven ability in one or more programming languages (Cobol, C++, Visual Basic, Java) and development tools.
  • Proven ability in structure analysis and technical design techniques, database and file access methods.
  • Proven ability in mainframe development, OO programming experience, including Java and C++, experience in developing NT, Unit, and/or Window based applications.
