About The Position

Halvik Corp delivers a wide range of services to 13 executive agencies and 15 independent agencies. Halvik is a highly successful WOB business with more than 50 prime contracts and 500+ professionals delivering Digital Services, Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Cyber Security and Cutting-Edge Technology across the US Government. Be a part of something special! The ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing Python-based APIs, serverless architectures (AWS Lambda), and modern React frontends. Fully capable of owning features end-to-end from design through to production.

Requirements

  • 5+ years professional software engineering experience
  • Strong Python development experience; practical knowledge of at least one web framework (FastAPI, Flask, Django).
  • Production experience building serverless apps on AWS - AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and related services.
  • Solid React experience (ES6+, JSX, hooks, state management).
  • Experience designing and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs.
  • Familiar with CI/CD, automated testing, version control (Git), and container basics (Docker).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with TypeScript, Redux/MobX, or React Query.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (Postgres/MySQL) and NoSQL stores (DynamoDB).
  • Familiarity with observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Sentry) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience with authentication/authorization patterns (OAuth2, JWT, Cognito).
  • Background in agile development and pair programming.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement RESTful/GraphQL APIs using Python (Flask, FastAPI, or Django REST Framework).
  • Build serverless backend components using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and related services (IAM, S3, DynamoDB/RDS).
  • Develop responsive React applications using modern patterns (hooks, functional components, state management).
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical designs and working software.
  • Write unit/integration tests and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, etc.).
  • Monitor, debug, and optimize application performance and security in production.
  • Contribute to code reviews, technical design discussions, and documentation.
