Your Opportunity: Venture Solutions, a Taylor Corporation company, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Developer with a strong background in mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of hands-on experience working with COBOL, VSAM, and related mainframe tools. Expertise in DOS/VSE environments is preferred, and familiarity with Quickjob is a plus. Candidates with proven experience in mainframe conversion and modernization projects will be highly valued. This role offers an opportunity to leverage your deep technical skills in a dynamic, collaborative environment while contributing to critical enterprise initiatives. This location adheres to the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). All employees must undergo a federal background check, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Requirements

10+ years mainframe experience utilizing COBOL, VSAM and other mainframe tools
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related area
Ability to handle and keep track of a multitude of assignments at one time
Attention to detail, excellent organization skills and a sense of urgency
Solid analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
Seeking self-starter with unyielding work ethic and motivation to learn a competitive business.
Excellent communication/documentation skills
Customer Service oriented

Proactive Team Mentality

Nice To Haves

Print and mail experience
Experience in DOS/VSE environment; Quickjob a plus
Mainframe conversion experience highly desirable

Responsibilities

Learn and maintain legacy systems
Develop and support custom applications
Coding fixes and new software development
Familiarity with one or more programming languages
Familiarity with standard development techniques (SDLC, OOD)
