About The Position

We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer (Emergency Services) to join our team who gets things done and is capable of being a leader on our ES software development team. We’re seeking somebody who is a maker, a hacker, and a software artisan. If your idea of fun is losing track of time while geeking out over new web frameworks, backend languages, or AI tools we’d like to talk to you. You’re gonna write great code and lots of it. You’ll be a senior member of an agile software development team, and a leading voice in your team’s design and implementation efforts. You’ll collaborate with peers to build and refactor code that is both readable and reliable due to its inherent lack of complexity. You’ll also look critically at what we’re building and how we’re building it, you’ll mentor, challenge the status quo, and you’ll originate ideas and activities that advance our craft.

Requirements

4+ years of software engineer experience
Deep expertise in Java and Java framework ecosystems
Passionate about writing testable code
Experience designing web services and service-oriented architectures
Know IP networking, web protocols, and REST
Familiar with relational and non-relational database systems
Use AI tools for fun, to learn, and to enhance your work
Passionate about the craft of software engineering
Hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions & IaC, with deployments and integrations on AWS.
Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, with a solid grasp of scalable cloud application architecture.
Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures
Experience mentoring and reviewing code

Familiar with developing enterprise applications
Have worked with Docker containers and Kubernetes or even OpenShift
Experience with performance tuning and JVM optimization

Have built AI Agents and understand agentic development
