The SAS 9 team is looking for a Senior Software Developer to lead the design and implementation of new features and enhancements to our existing platform based upon requirements from both internal product management and customer driven requirements that come in from the field. Our team supports our existing platform and focuses on securing and modernizing the platform, improving quality and performance, and resolving field-reported issues. There’s never a dull moment in the SAS 9 Division! If you’re excited by learning new things, understanding complex systems and architectures and figuring out how to integrate new functionality into them while overseeing the development/implementation of these enhancements, often across multiple teams, then this position is for you!

  • Provide technical leadership to a team of developers working mostly with C and Java codebases.
  • Lead cross departmental initiatives, documenting and managing projects to meet deadlines and optimize developmental resources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across R&D and product management to ensure timely and successful delivery.
  • Drive technical initiatives and mentor junior developers to foster a culture of learning and excellence.
  • Participate in and lead project scoping, scheduling, and progress tracking; proactively identifying, reporting, and resolving blockers.
  • Research, prototype and design solutions for upgrading existing systems to meet evolving industry standards.
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation in tools, processes, and code quality.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
  • 8 years of enterprise-level software development experience with proficiency in C / Java.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • A passion for mentoring and driving technical excellence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading diverse groups to accomplish complex design challenges in required timelines.
  • Good understanding of different Operating Systems (Linux, Windows or AIX).
  • Excellent understanding of Systems Architecture and Design, esp. w.r.t interfacing between proprietary and third party systems.
  • Ability to self-learn complex systems without complete documentation or access to knowledgeable individuals.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  • MVS experience.
  • Understanding of CI/CD process, software automation tools/techniques, Git/Gerrit.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative, with flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities.
