About The Position

Responsible for shipping, receiving, delivery and storage of various materials following established standards related to a full-service restaurant. This full-time staff member is responsible for the inventory and par levels in the storeroom, production areas, and walk-in units, as well as keeping these areas clean and organized. This position will report to the Shipping/Receiving Coordinator and the Executive Chef, and will support all areas of the restaurant while abiding by the core purpose and core values of Food Services. Will be required to complete accurate inventory counts, store and rotate food products, unload pallets of inventory to the appropriate and approved locations throughout the restaurant. Delivers supplies and/or materials using university vehicles, including moving and/or lifting of equipment. Maintains good working relationships with vendors and service providers. Considered essential personnel and required to work if needed during University closures and inclement weather. Position works in an active production kitchen environment. Performs related duties as assigned to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 12 months experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Read and understand written or printed materials.
  • Use correct grammatical structure and vocabulary.
  • Basic word processing skills.
  • Build and maintain rapport with customers and work team.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with generating word documents and navigating/editing excel files.
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date.
  • Forklift operator license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date.

Nice To Haves

  • 12+ months previous experience working in a store room.
  • Previous experience managing food item inventory and delivering products.
  • Familiarity with pallet jacks and First In First Out product usage.
