About The Position

This position is primarily focused on supporting the US Army Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) at Hunter Army Airfield, GA. The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance, which is mandatory for U.S. citizens only. The position involves acting as a customer and field service interface, driving improvements based on end user experience, and performing corrective actions for field issues, special investigations, and product testing. The candidate will be responsible for performing analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. The role also includes managing configuration, builds processes, and identifying manufacturing/engineering defects, while facilitating adherence to product requirements that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The candidate must be willing to travel with little to no notice to support customer events, including deployment to austere locations outside of the US. The position is fully onsite at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA, and may require atypical hours based on customer needs, with up to 50% travel required.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Experience operating/troubleshooting integrated digital avionics management systems on Special Operations rotary wing aircraft including MH-6M, MH-6R, MH-47G, and MH-60M platforms.
  • Experience with RF energies.
  • Experience with Microsoft products including Excel, Visio, and Access Database.
  • Experience with fundamentals of wire harness fabrication and military installation/repair practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of infrared optical sensors and laser targeting systems.
  • Understanding of millimeter wave terrain following radar systems.
  • Experience with anti-jam/anti-spoof GPS receivers and Inertial Navigation Units.
  • Experience with aviation maps and navigational charts.
  • Experience with Aircraft Survivability Equipment with a primary focus on the L3Harris SIRFC (Suite of Integrated Radio Frequency Countermeasures).
  • Knowledge of spectrum analyzers, multi-meters, and arbitrary waveform generators.

Responsibilities

  • Static analysis/collection of network traffic and digital protocol data transmissions.
  • System and sub-system debug through serial command line interfaces and remote protocols.
  • Development of Acceptance Test Procedures for both Collins and non-Collins equipment.
  • Analysis of hardware interfaces and wiring schematics to identify and address interoperability/compatibility defects.
  • Serviceability assessment of sensitive optical devices and image quality analysis.
  • Handling/Operating cryptographic keying devices.
  • Compile/Instruct educational modules for supported systems.
  • Record, reduce, and plot data collected during flight test.
  • Conduct scheduled, and impromptu, training sessions for software loading and systems troubleshooting.
