About The Position

Collins Aerospace is looking for a Sr Service Engineer for E-4B Support at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. This role directly influences the safety and performance of our aircraft mission systems, making a tangible impact on the industry. The position is responsible for performing assignments requiring service of Collins Aerospace avionics, avionics systems, telecommunications or computer equipment and systems. The primary functions include installation support, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and system test and training, as required in accordance with Collins Aerospace and customer requirements. The Field Service Engineer (FSE) supports equipment and systems of high complexity and advanced technology. Competence is required in utilizing developmental techniques for experimental or prototype equipment and during configuration changes in customer systems including interface with Collins Aerospace and/or Non-Collins Aerospace equipment.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Must have experience in operating the mission support equipment installed on a Air Force E-4B aircraft.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess IA (Information Assurance) Certification in one of the following: GSEC, SCNP, SSCP or Security+.

Responsibilities

  • Offers technical assistance to field engineers, technicians, and product support teams engaged in diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging intricate electro-mechanical devices, computer systems, and complex software.
  • Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.
  • Participates in determining objectives of assignment and plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.
  • Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications.
  • Acts as the primary representative for the organization on contracts or projects.
  • Collaborates with senior internal and external stakeholders on important issues.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.
  • Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications.
  • Involved in planning and preparing customer installation and training.
  • Prepares and provides approval and validation of product support documentation.
