Security Manufacturing Engineering is at the core of our ability to deliver secure, trusted products. We are seeking a highly motivated security engineer to drive high-impact security initiatives across the vehicle life cycle, balancing security objectives with business velocity. This role requires someone who can see the complete picture - from firmware to cloud services - and make pragmatic decisions, work with a variety of stakeholders, and drive projects to completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in technical field, engineering discipline or related security engineering role
  • Understanding of cryptographic principles and secure communication protocols
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for building and deploying secure, scalable services
  • Comfortable digging into unfamiliar deeply technical topics in broad systems involving vehicles, factory infrastructure, and backend systems
  • Strong linux knowledge - Primarily Debian and similar (setup, configuration, and monitoring)
  • Programming experience in Python, Go, Rust or similar

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with embedded systems and their security mechanisms
  • Experience working in a regulated industry (automotive, medical, aerospace) with complex connected products
  • Experience with AWS and cloud orchestration

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Service teams to integrate security requirements and controls into vehicle production and service processes
  • Define and implement security requirements for manufacturing tools, diagnostics, and service procedures
  • Conduct security reviews and audits of the manufacturing and service environments
  • Triage and resolve security issues identified during manufacturing, delivery, and service operations
  • Drive end-to-end execution of vehicle security initiatives across software and hardware domains, taking on development, integration, and test responsibilities to ensure timely delivery
  • Design and implement security features that enable scalable development practices
  • Arbitrate cross-functional discussions to ensure security controls are effective yet practical, finding solutions that work for all stakeholders
  • Work with product teams to integrate security early in the development lifecycle, providing guidance on secure design patterns and potential risks
  • Build and maintain security platforms and tools that enable manufacturing and service to securely build and maintain vehicles
  • Champion security automation initiatives to scale security practices across a growing fleet and product portfolio
