The Corporate Services Security team helps ensure that Amazon’s enterprise business applications are designed and implemented to the high security standards required to maintain and enhance customer trust. Our team is responsible for protecting the wide range of global Finance, HR, Legal and Communications services that power Amazon’s many businesses. We are looking for a Senior Manager, Security Engineering, to lead our Product Security team. This role will elevate our security strategy through broad leadership, cross functional collaboration, and delivery of high-quality results that push us to continuously improve for our customers. As Senior Manager of ProdSec in Corporate Services Security (CPSS), you will lead a team of talented Security Engineers who are deeply engaged with the corporate tech teams who design and build Amazon’s critical business applications. Your team will drive down security risk by identifying key gaps and providing actionable guidance and solutions. You will set the strategic direction for application security in corporate services while developing and taking the team to the next level. Ideal candidates will have an established background as an application/product security engineering manager with experience spanning threat modeling, architecture reviews, scanning and assessments, and remediation/mitigation approaches. You will understand AI application security threats and embrace AI to scale delivery. You will combine technical leadership with managerial depth. You will have a proven track record of aligning security with the strategies of the businesses you support and collaborating effectively with builder teams throughout the phases of the S-SDLC.

  • Defining an application security service roadmap; aligning with key business stakeholders to ensure that objectives are focused on areas of key concern and change; providing technical oversight for all phases of the software security lifecycle.
  • Hiring, developing, and mentoring security engineers, and managing the day-to-day activities of the team.
  • Creating the organization of the future by driving a culture of inclusion where team members are encouraged to take risks and push limits to challenge organizational security assumptions.
  • Partnering with peers, partners, customers and stakeholders to prioritize and drive implementation of security-related technical and process controls to remediate risks identified during engagements.
  • Communicating updates to senior security and business leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Knowledge of information security risk-based prioritization
  • 10+ years of industry work with hands-on security engineering experience
  • Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits or equivalent
  • Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects
  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
  • Experience working within a high-growth, technology company
  • Proven ability to attract, retain, develop and lead disbursed teams of security engineers.
  • Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field
  • Experience in tech, electronics, consumer goods, or other fast-paced, technology-driven businesses
