About The Position

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Structural Biology or related field with 0-5 years of relevant experience, or a BS/MS with 8-10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in cryo-electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography, or computational structural biology.
• Experience with protein purification and characterization is strongly preferred.
• Direct experience with membrane proteins is an advantage.
• Demonstrated track record of independent research including one or more first-author publications.

• Ability to rapidly absorb information from other fields such as immunology, oncology, or cell biology.

Responsibilities

• Characterizing and purifying protein complexes, freezing grids, and collecting cryoEM data.
• Conducting single-particle cryoEM map refinement, structure determination, and structure analysis.
• Conducting cryoET data collection, tomogram reconstruction, and interpretation.
• Predicting protein features such as viscosity or aggregation propensity from large datasets.
• Meeting with colleagues from different departments to discuss projects and design structural experiments.
• Presenting results to varying audiences.
