Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech We are searching for the best talent for a Sr Scientist R&D to support our Electrophysiology business. This role is located in Irvine, CA office. A highly trained individual contributor who independently conducts and interprets complex biological experiments to support exploratory biology, preclinical, and development programs, spending 75-90% of time on lab work. Reports (in writing and orally) in a clear and effective manner the results and interpretation of studies and experiments within departments. Develops hypotheses with creative experimental designs and performs experiments and analyses to advance novel biology. Supports lab resource management and uses knowledge of costs and budget implications to submit material orders. Drafts peer-reviewed manuscripts, tech reports, and patent filings. Monitors proper recording of information and reviews information to draw appropriate conclusions. Collaborates across cross-department teams/research groups to share results. Manages the work of project members to meet project goals and accomplish team objectives on time and within budget. Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities. Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team. Innovate and contribute to the development of current medical, technical, and biomedical developments related to company products and electrophysiology technologies. Lead the design and execution of tissue and device testing, including in vitro, ex vivo, and preclinical studies. Develop, optimize, validate, and document test methods, protocols, and reports. Plan and run bench-top and functional device testing (mechanical performance, durability, electrical safety where applicable). Define study objectives, acceptance criteria, sample size and statistical approach; analyze and interpret results to support product design decisions.
