Sr. Scientist, Formulation - Competitive Complexity

About The Position

The position will work closely with the Competitive Complexity technical team and with cross-functional partners in R&D, Plants, Supply, Finance, Commercial and the Central Formulation Team to enable the successful delivery of Competitive Complexity initiatives in coordination with other priority projects and business continuity activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Food Science, Food Chemistry, Biology, Chemistry or related technical field
• 5+ years of experience in a related field
• Good understanding of scientific principles (chemical, microbiological, physical) associated with pet food nutrition, food systems, food preparation, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and ingredient and ingredient/process interactions; HACCP working knowledge.
• Knowledge and experience with basic analytical and system skills like SAP, Veritas.
• Proficient math and computer skills are required (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
• Proficient in and consistently uses good documentation practices.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree in Animal Science, Food Science, Food Chemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or related technical field
• Experience in SAP, BOM recipe documentation and understanding of recipe design software.
• 3+ years of work experience in R&D in the food manufacturing or related industry.

Responsibilities

• Support Competitive Complexity charters by providing recipes, and formulation support enabling the delivery of project targets and product performance.
• Support the development and implementation of recipes and raw materials in the factory consistent with business processes and company standards for quality and performance.
• Support finished product testing plans enabling most efficient use of budget available.
• Demonstrate a quality culture in actions, words, and spirit.
