There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.
As a Sr. Satellite Operations and Reliability Engineer at SpaceX, you will play a crucial role in the operation and reliability of the Starlink satellite constellation, which is the largest in the world. This position sits at the intersection of electrical, mechanical, and software engineering, ensuring that the hardware on thousands of satellites can effectively serve millions of users globally from low-Earth orbit. Your responsibilities will include sending commands and responding to alerts to maintain peak performance of the satellites, which are designed to provide fast and reliable internet service to over 3 million users worldwide. In this role, you will collaborate with subsystem responsible engineers, software engineers, guidance navigation and control engineers, and network engineers to develop tools, mitigations, and upgrades for orbital assets. You will be tasked with defining and improving procedures for operating and monitoring new hardware versions, new Starlink satellites, and new satellite capabilities. Your focus on continuous improvement will drive changes, automation, and process enhancements to achieve the highest reliability with an efficient operator count. The position requires a proactive approach to detect and triage emerging anomalies on satellite bus and payload hardware. You will also be responsible for driving continual improvements to the constellation by building and utilizing tools to analyze data collected both on-orbit and during ground testing. Writing automation software in Python to interact with production documentation systems and satellite operations systems will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will develop operational processes and strategies for new versions and performance targets of orbital assets and satellite subsystems within the Starlink network. Your ability to challenge assumptions and find simple solutions to complex problems will be essential in this dynamic environment.
