Toyota is looking for a forward-leaning, highly technical, and collaborative Sr. SAP Platform Engineer to join the TFS Data and Technology Department. This role involves designing and architecting SAP Platform applications, maintaining application artifacts, coaching teams on best practices, and assisting in root cause analysis to improve application reliability. The engineer will also be responsible for building the technical design for the SAP Platform Practice, including design processes, implementation standards, and investigating new technologies. A strong knowledge of application development, distributed computing, cloud-native application design, and SAP systems is essential for this role.

  • Work alongside platform and development teams to architect and design SAP Platform applications.
  • Maintain application artifacts like architecture & design views, decision records, and tech debts.
  • Coach teams on best development and configuration practices.
  • Assist teams in setting up development practices and developing complex aspects.
  • Perform root cause analysis and improve application reliability.
  • Design processes and associated artifact templates for the SAP Platform Practice.
  • Implement standards, reference architectures, and implementation patterns for common use cases.
  • Investigate new technologies supporting development teams’ proof of concepts.
  • 10+ years of hands-on applications architecture and lifecycle development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as an SAP Platform Engineer or architect.
  • 5+ years of experience architecting SAP S/4 Hana on-premise in a private cloud.
  • 5+ years of experience developing cloud-native applications (AWS and SalesForce a plus).
  • Proficiency in SAP Platform services implementation.
  • Mastery of design principles, design patterns, refactoring, and automation testing.
  • Knowledge of Domain Driven Design.
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP, DataSphere, and SQL/NoSQL database design.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Redwood, Angular/React, REST, AWS services (EKS, RDS, Lambda, S3...).
  • Expertise in architecting and developing secure, scalable, reliable, fault-tolerant distributed applications.
