As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our sales team to drive revenue growth and provide innovative Managed Solutions, Cybersecurity and network designs to our clients. This position is ideal for individuals who are technically adept, customer-focused, and eager to contribute to the success of one of the industry's leading providers of shared communications infrastructure. In this role you will support regional sales teams and their leadership as part of the pre-sales process, providing technical expertise, cost estimates and engaging cross-functional teammates for design support.

  • Act as the technical lead and product specialist in customer meetings to determine technical requirements, provide technical insights, and answer technical questions to build trust and rapport.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on one or more technologies within managed services.
  • Design viable data network solutions for customer applications with alternatives based on customer-specific technical and financial parameters.
  • Conduct formal and informal technical training sessions for Sales Engineering and Sales teammates.
  • Work cross-functionally with Network Engineering, Network Architecture and Product teams to develop and validate Managed Solutions designs.
  • Review and validate service orders before being submitted for implementation.
  • Participate in service order kickoff meetings to ensure smooth service implementation.
  • Prepare Project Delivery teams to execute on sold orders, and provide technical support as required.
  • Collaborate with project management through the implementation process as required.
  • Act as liaison to Product Management team as both a technology expert and as the voice of the customer.
  • Perform other support duties, as assigned.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Science (BA/BS) preferred or other relevant Engineering Experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical pre-sales or network engineering roles, such as Sales Engineer or Solutions Architecture or Network Engineer.
  • Proven experience in customer-facing technical sales.
  • Experience with LAN/WAN configuration and/or implementation.
  • Expert knowledge of the OSI model and technologies at each layer, especially L2-L3.
  • Experience designing & selling cyber security or SDWAN solutions.
  • Experience with computer software programs such as Microsoft Office including Excel & Visio.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry is preferred.
  • Professional-level technical certification relevant to area of expertise, such as: MEF, Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, Versa, Fortinet, Meraki, Palo Alto, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, AWS, Azure CS, Google CS.
