About The Position

Perdue Farms is hiring a Senior Safety and Security Manager at our Lewiston, NC facility! This role leads safety & security efforts for the 1,800+ employees assigned to the Lewiston, NC food manufacturing complex and other eastern NC facilities by maintaining a world-class culture through continually improving safety processes. The Senior Safety and Security Manager will be the technical expert partnering with operation leadership to deliver operational results through impactful safety, health, and security solutions. Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Safety & Heath, or Industrial Health Management, or Occupational Health & Safety, or a related degree.
• 10+ years' experience in manufacturing safety management with multi-site responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience leading a world-class safety program which has achieved <2.0 TRIR.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Industrial and food safety health knowledge.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA requirements.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent grammar and writing skills.
• Strong supervisory skills, particularly supervising off-site personnel.
• Proven ability to lead and influence others.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate employees.
• Ability to research pertinent facts, data and other information from internal and external sources.
• Proficient use of computer and corresponding programs - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OHM, SAP.
• Ability to implement behavioral-based safety techniques to improve/maintain safety performance.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and current annual 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Nice To Haves

• A Master's degree in Environment, Safety & Health.
• Certified from the Board of Safety Professional (CSP) or the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH).

Responsibilities

• Leads all safety & security efforts for the Lewiston manufacturing complex and Perdue Farms' eastern North Carolina field operations.
• Manages live production and garage safety in conjunction with the non-collocated safety director.
• Directly leads & manages daily activities and personnel matters of the facility and its security contract personnel.
• Leads facility security team/guard force in managing security processes.
• Provides technical expertise for cross functional teams to ensure safe operational processes.
• Continuously interacts with the hourly work force to promote safety awareness and drive associate engagement.
• Leads site safety business plan development by analyzing relevant data and tracking/reporting facility and corporate KPIs/metrics.
• Provides training support to the organization and ensures that all required safety training is effectively completed on time.
• Ensures effective investigations on all safety and security incidents are completed.
• Leads/member of the incident command team and required to respond and or direct emergency response activities.
• Liaisons for 3rd party assessments, audits, & inspections.
• Maintains working relationship with permanent and temporary contractors.
