About The Position

The Sr Analyst, Enterprise Risk is responsible for leading, developing, and performing First National of Nebraska, Inc.'s (“FNNI”) Operational Risk Self-Assessment (ORSA) program, leading and developing the integrated Risk Self-Assessment program (IRSA) and assisting with the development and performance of the Enterprise Risk Management (“ERM”) program. This includes policy/program development, enhancement, and training, reporting to oversight committees, monitoring compliance with policy/program requirements, quality assurance reviews, performing credible challenge and ensuring timely resolution of issues. This role will also identify, develop, and implement process and system enhancements to continuously improve efficiency and best practices. This role acts as a subject matter expert, representing Enterprise Risk on matters that pertain to ORSA, IRSA and certain aspects of ERM functions. Additionally, this role performs governance and oversight functions of the above programs and proactively works with business units to identify and escalate risks associated with these programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or related risk management experience.
  • 5+ years of risk assessment, operational/enterprise risk management or equivalent business unit experience.
  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills with experience building consensus, gaining buy-in, and addressing complex topics within all levels of an organization.
  • Must be proficient in business and leadership capabilities: effective communication, independent and sound decision making, effective relationship management skills.
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work efficiently in pressure situations and demonstrate a high level of flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to build and develop collaborative working relationships.
  • Ability to identify and recommend objective resolutions to problems using risk analysis.
  • Ability to present information and reporting in a clear and concise manner.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance the governance framework of oversight functions.
  • Lead all aspects of the ORSA Program.
  • Lead all aspects of the IRSA Program.
  • Maintain all policies, programs, procedures, and training materials of the ORSA and IRSA programs and certain aspects of the ERM program.
  • Assess the ORSA and IRSA programs and certain aspects of ERM program for enhancements and improvements including compliance with regulator guidance and best practices.
  • Incorporate feedback and provide input to business unit partners on related areas of focus, known gaps, and emerging areas of risk.
  • Advise business units on the structure and content of their operational risk assessments.
  • Maintain and enhance the Archer risk assessment module including workflows and new or revised program requirements.
  • Conduct and continually improve Tier 2 oversight processes including Credible Challenge of operational risk assessments including associated controls.
  • Prepare reporting to appropriate board appointed committees regarding key risks, aspects, or components of the ORSA, IRSA and ERM programs.
  • Facilitate the execution of action plans related to program findings.
  • Work collaboratively with SMEs, business unit partners, and oversight committee members and lead discussions of emerging areas of regulator or Chief Risk Officer focus pertaining to ORSA, IRSA and ERM.
  • Lead business unit partners, SMEs, and oversight committee member discussions to promote a clear partnership and understanding of program improvements, risks, and expectations.
  • Engage with business unit partners, SMEs, and oversight committee members to identify and implement appropriate solutions to improve the ORSA, IRSA and ERM programs.
  • Work with business unit partners and SMEs to ensure clear understanding and alignment of efforts and accountabilities.
  • Meet with business unit partners and SMEs as needed, to explain applicable program requirements, impacts and solutions, and discuss results of audits, regulatory exams, Tier 2 reviews and Credible Challenge results.
  • Responsible for leading initiatives and representing Enterprise Risk in support of FNNI's ORSA and IRSA programs and certain aspects of the ERM program.
  • Exhibit professional behavior and promote positive working relationships.
  • Develop and present official scorecards, reports, and metrics for timely distribution to management, as appropriate.
  • Perform project management functions on as-needed basis.
  • Assist management in internal audit and regulatory exam management.
  • Collaborate and cross train with other members of the team and serve as back up for those functions.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
