The Advanced Effector Guidance Section (AEGS) Department within Raytheon Hardware Engineering provides Electrical Systems Engineering to develop Electronic Systems solutions for products across the Raytheon portfolio. Our core electrical engineering responsibilities include architecture, requirements, integration, and test. Our core electrical engineering technologies include RF/RADAR, Navigation/IMU/GPS, Datalink, Digital, and Power. We partner with several Electrical Product Team departments that provide the detailed design of our electrical products as well as systems teams. The Advanced Effector Guidance Department is searching for a Senior RF/Electrical Engineer with experience in integrating, testing, and troubleshooting Radio Frequency Guidance Electronics. The role of the RF engineer is to integrate and validate electronics design during the development phase of the program. Electronics validation includes testing hardware, assessing performance, failure resolution, analysis, and modeling. The RF Engineer collaborates with the supplier and interfaces with multi-disciplined groups.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience in RF product and subassembly design, integration, and production support.
  • Experience with electrical hardware development and/or testing.
  • Experience in sub-systems, systems engineering requirement development and/or requirement validation.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Knowledge of mixed signal electronics.
  • Practical experience in all phases of the product development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting electronics in a lab or production environment.
  • Performing system and circuit level analysis.
  • Subsystem integration and test.
  • Supporting failure investigations.
  • Maintaining and creating documentation.
  • Interacting with multi-disciplined groups.
  • Understanding the requirements, interfaces, subsystem behavior, and how the subsystem will integrate into the overall system and architecture.
  • Experience in RF, especially in seeker/sensor/radar.
  • Experience in Design Verification Testing (DVT) and qualification testing.
  • Integration & test of the subassemblies at the system level.
  • Interfacing and communicating with the supplier on hardware deliveries and technical issues / technical solutions.
  • Knowing when to escalate issues, pull in Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and communicate progress and risks.
  • Failure analysis / root cause determination and corrective action on a complex portfolio of failure modes and risks.
  • Generating test procedures/plans and documenting test results.
  • Experience in Agile and Scrum.
