Public Consulting Group is looking for a Senior Retirement Analyst to join the Total Rewards Team. A Senior Retirement Analyst manages the day-to-day operations of an employer's retirement plan, ensuring it remains compliant with federal laws like ERISA and the IRS. This role involves significant fiduciary responsibility, requiring the administrator to act solely in the best interest of plan participants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years of experience in Human Resources and or working with retirement plans
  • Previous 401k Experience needed
  • In-depth knowledge of retirement plan types and governing laws (ERISA, IRS regulations, DOL guidelines).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex benefit-related issues and correct errors
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to educate and support plan participants
  • Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with retirement plan administration software

Responsibilities

  • Enrolling eligible employees, maintaining accurate participant records, updating deferral rates, and processing status changes (e.g., new hires, terminations).
  • Overseeing and approving participant transactions, including contributions, distributions, rollovers, hardship withdrawals, and loans, ensuring they adhere to plan rules
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate records of all plan activities, contributions, and investments.
  • Performing mandatory annual nondiscrimination testing to ensure the plan benefits all employees equitably, not just highly compensated employees.
  • Preparing, signing, and submitting required forms to government agencies, most notably the annual Form 5500 and related schedules, to report on the plan's financial condition and operations
  • Coordinating and supporting annual plan audits for large plans.
  • Staying updated on changes in federal and state laws and amending plan documents as needed to maintain legal compliance
