About The Position

NextEra Analytics offers energy consulting services using industry-leading scientific analysis for planning, siting, forecasting and optimizing all forms of energy projects. Our optimization and analytics platforms integrate open-source technologies to leverage massive, diverse sets of utility operating data. This enables rapid development of operational solutions. Applying expertise in advanced mathematics, data and physical sciences, we solve some of the hardest problems facing the energy industry. This job is responsible for running complex AI-driven statistical, wind flow, solar irradiance, and GIS models to produce long-term wind and/or solar energy production estimates.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge in AI-driven statistical models.
• Experience with wind flow and solar irradiance modeling.
• Proficiency in GIS modeling.
• Strong background in advanced mathematics and data sciences.
• Ability to mentor and guide lower level analysts.

Responsibilities

• Run complex AI-driven statistical, wind flow, solar irradiance, and GIS models.
• Produce long-term wind and/or solar energy production estimates.
• Advance core methods, AI-based models, optimizations, and processes.
• Mentor lower level analysts.
• Collect and filter data.
• Conduct long-term wind energy production estimates.
• Perform power curve testing.
• Process investment approvals.
• Conduct site suitability testing.
• Provide financing support.
• Work on special projects.
• Support Senior Quant Analysts with prototype coding.
• Test code/applications.
• Document processes/applications.
• Maintain quality assurance in all efforts.
