About The Position

The Senior Residential Advisor plays a pivotal role in fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging living environment for residents within a residential community. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations, providing guidance and mentorship to residents, and ensuring compliance with community policies and standards. The Senior Residential Advisor acts as a liaison between residents and management, addressing concerns and facilitating conflict resolution to promote a harmonious living experience. Additionally, this role involves coordinating programs and activities that enhance community engagement and personal development. Ultimately, the Senior Residential Advisor contributes to creating a positive residential atmosphere that supports the well-being and growth of all residents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in residential advising, student affairs, or community management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle conflict resolution and crisis management effectively.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a related field such as Counseling, Social Work, or Higher Education.
  • Experience working in a multicultural or diverse residential community.
  • Certification in mediation, conflict resolution, or crisis intervention.
  • Proficiency with residential management software and data tracking tools.
  • Training in mental health first aid or related support services.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support residents by providing guidance, resources, and conflict resolution.
  • Monitor and enforce community policies to maintain a safe and respectful living environment.
  • Coordinate and implement community programs and events that promote resident engagement and development.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for residents, addressing concerns and facilitating communication with management.
  • Maintain accurate records related to resident interactions, incidents, and program participation.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth daily operations and emergency preparedness.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to junior residential advisors and support staff.
