About The Position

We are seeking a Sr. Research Specialist who will make intellectual contributions to scientific research interests of the lab. In collaboration with PI, make research project decisions that may alter research objectives and direction. Contribute to writing peer-reviewed manuscripts and grants. Apply independent thought to make decisions with PI. Specific Duties & Responsibilities Develop, design and manage substantial research projects, coordinates own objectives. Perform sophisticated data analysis utilizing extensive knowledge base and varied methods experience. In clinical lab, performs and develops clinical validation protocols. Act as consultant to refine or adapt methodologies to fit research objectives. Collaborates in development of new technologies, protocols and uses of equipment. Co-author publications. Contribute original thoughts, hypotheses, and analysis to write reports, abstracts and manuscripts. Function scientifically in lab similarly to post-doctoral fellow. Independently perform all research assays specific to the research laboratory interests. May provide work direction to staff, including recommendations for hire/fire, and evaluation of performance. Enhance problem solving through interactions and discussions with collaborators or senior researchers at meetings and or professional presentations. Make decisions regarding research projects that may require assessment, revision of objectives, or altering scientific direction; considers resources and lab priorities when making decisions. Performs other related duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field
  • Four years of experience in a comparable laboratory performing relevant techniques.

  • Master's Degree with related graduate research.
