About The Position
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Senior Research Associate to join the Protein Engineering Group at 10x Genomics. The candidate will be expected to work on a variety of protein engineering projects aimed at optimizing and generating differentiated enzymatic leads. This includes tasks such as protein expression, purification, and characterization. The role is crucial in advancing our understanding of biology and contributing to the development of innovative tools that enable scientists to address complex scientific questions. In this position, you will participate in protein engineering efforts to optimize various enzymes used in 10x Genomics products. You will be involved in the directed evolution of enzymes using mid to high throughput screening systems, which is essential for enhancing the functionality of our products. The role also requires protein expression of various enzymes, with a preference for nucleic acid modifying enzymes, and the purification of these proteins utilizing a variety of methods including affinity, ion-exchange, hydrophobic, and size-exclusion chromatography. You will be expected to perform complex experiments with a strong attention to detail and thorough documentation. Accomplishing goals under project team timelines is a key aspect of this role, ensuring that the team meets its objectives efficiently and effectively. Your contributions will play a significant role in the ongoing success of our protein engineering initiatives and the broader mission of 10x Genomics to accelerate biological understanding and innovation.
