About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in research, biological science, analytics, statistics, actuarial science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Five years of research/analytics experience in underwriting automation, data science, life insurance, or medical research
  • Proficiency in R, Python or equivalent coding language and/or Power BI
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Experience building basic statistical and/or machine learning models
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present research findings to senior management
  • An inquisitive mindset and the ability and willingness to learn new skills
  • Proficiency using MS Excel

Responsibilities

  • Utilize statistical methods and techniques to analyze data and deliver data-driven insights for underwriting decision-making and automation.
  • Develop models to support underwriting automation.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to ensure effective tracking and assessment of underwriting activities.
  • Conduct protective value studies to evaluate the effectiveness and value of third party data sources.
  • Construct and maintain data dictionaries to ensure clarity and consistency in data usage.
  • Perform deep dive analyses to uncover detailed insights.
  • Develop models to support underwriting automation processes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
