About The Position

The Sr. Repair Technician performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 6+ years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment in either electronics or electro-mechanical assembly and test is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Experienced in working on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Ground Control Stations (GCSs)
• Experienced with hand tools, including crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power tools and air tools is required
• Experienced interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
• Demonstrated familiarity with Safety and ESD practices
• Must have basic computer operation skills
• ITAR Requirement: This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). Nice To Haves

• Vocational training in Electronics and/or Solder Certification is desired
• Soldering experiences of all types according to IPC standards in connection with the above described duties (Desired)
• Demonstrates competency in analyzing and solving problems.
• Versed in Lean Manufacturing methodologies is preferred
• Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments
• As a highly skilled specialist, contributes to the development of concepts and techniques while completing tasks in creative and effective ways
• Work effectively with engineering on new product development efforts where documentation and assembly instructions are not yet finalized

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility is to repair Small Unmanned Arial System products in our SUAS manufacturing facility following released engineering drawings and assembly instructions using our work order system
• Assembly and Disassembly of various Line Replaceable Units (LRU)
• Mechanical assembly of subassemblies using hand and/or power tools
• Final assembly of ground control equipment and air vehicles
• Testing and troubleshooting of subassemblies and final assemblies
• Soldering is one of the duties performed in this role
• Works with other Repair Technicians and Engineering to correct and improve upon any documents related to the assembly process at the required high quality standard
• Working with manufacturing engineers to improve assembly efficiency, improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs and validate released assembly/ fabrication documentation
• Responsible for ensuring that work order protocols are followed and that work order paperwork is completed as the work is performed
• May also train other technicians to build a product or follow an established assembly process
• May conduct in-process quality checks to ensure that items built are to established high quality standards
• Consistently works on assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues
• Other duties as assigned
