About The Position

Honeywell's ACST team is seeking a Sr. Reliability Engineer for our Plymouth, MN location that will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of our systems and products. You will be part of the Mission Assurance organization, and will be responsible for establishing, monitoring, and verifying reliability and maintainability performance for our designs to ensure program requirements are achieved.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in Reliability and Maintainability engineering.
  • Experience performing Reliability engineering design analysis (e.g., reliability allocation, reliability prediction, reliability block diagrams, reliability growth, Weibull analysis, failure analysis, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PhD
  • Familiarity with the full product life cycle with a strong emphasis on maintainability, and reliability.
  • Experience with Design for Reliability (DFR), MIL-HDBK-217 and ANSI/VITA 51.1
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience working with cryogenic systems, related technology and infrastructure
  • Product knowledge in mechanical components such as pumps, heat exchanges, extreme temperature piping, valves, actuators, and solenoids
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven capacity to collaborate seamlessly across all employee and management tiers
  • Ability to contribute to and collaborate across scientific and engineering disciplines, while emphasizing teamwork

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate product designs to perform reliability allocations, calculate MTBF/MTTR, and recommend design changes to achieve required levels of product reliability.
  • Create and maintain reliability documentation, including program requirements, reliability block diagrams, design failure modes effects analysis (DFMEA), failure mode identification, and criticality analysis.
  • Assist in review of engineering designs, operations, and serviceability for reliability and maintainability impacts.
  • Participate in failure reporting analysis and corrective action system (FRACAS), root cause corrective action (RCCA) and other mission assurance activities as required.
  • Collaborate closely with system engineers and integration/test engineers to develop technical studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts, including Accelerated Life Testing (ALT), Reliability Growth Testing (RGT), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), and maintainability demonstrations.
