About The Position

Be part of a global engineering team and work with various cross-functional teams as Sr Regulatory Engineer to ensure that current and future products meet national and international regulatory requirements. The selected candidate will identify the appropriate regulatory requirements for the product and evaluate, recommend, and implement test strategies that may utilize both in-house and outsourced test capabilities. In the proper execution of this job function, the person holding this position will assist in opening new markets for the product, reducing the likelihood of product liability litigation, and ensuring that the organization has met its legal responsibility regarding product design.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the engineering field, with a strong understanding of electro-mechanical or mechanical engineering concepts
  • Project management experience, with proven ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently
  • Proven ability to comprehend electrical schematics, diagrams, and mechanical drawings
  • Experienced using MS Office suite, MS Project, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat, along with proven presentation skills
  • The ability to work on a Hybrid schedule

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with the interpretation and application of standards such as the following: UL, CSA, IEC, ANSI, CE, FM, EMC, ESD, IC, CCC and FCC
  • Proven experience influencing stakeholders (internal and external) through data and creative presentation
  • Proven project management skills to ensure successful completion of complex tasks
  • Ability to work within a global organization and multiple LOB's (Ex: Safety/Security, Water, GCS & Comfort)
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills across a variety of levels within an organization

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and review of new product designs to identify regulatory compliance issues.
  • Implement and/or review changes to existing product designs to identify regulatory compliance impact.
  • Monitor product regulatory standards to keep apprised of new or changing requirements that may affect our products. Identify products impacted and ensure product management is aware of required actions to retain compliance.
  • Maintain pertinent list of Industry Specifications and Resideo Committee members.
  • Identify and implement best practices, including streamlining and digitization of the current internal system. This will be partially accomplished through teaming with roles in other parts of Resideo.
  • Establish and maintain regulatory compliance test strategies, programs, and facilities.
  • Initiate and/or review Engineering Change orders for corrective action involving agency issues of regulatory-controlled products.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all regulatory agencies and manage regulatory agency reports for all applicable products.
  • Oversee Regional Compliance requirements and product conformance.
  • Raise an official declaration for approval bodies.
  • Manage the gap analysis in case of new standards or standards which has been upgraded.
  • Prepare the submittal of files for certification and approvals (preparation of the technical files, relevant forms, and submittal letters) for the national approval/certification body in multiple languages.
  • Prepare products before testing (in-house compliance checking and preparation of equipment's under tests) and work with certification bodies to follow and ensure a good process of certification/approval.
  • Work with project teams and product managers to prepare items to be tested, working to fulfill certification targets.
  • Ensure maintenance of the product certification/approval (to be sure that the manufacturer product is fully similar to the one which has been certified/approved).
  • Analyze the change and consequences when a new standard appears or standard or certification/approval rules are updated.
  • Plan and coordinate plant audits by certification bodies and address any non-conformances as appropriate.
