A Sr. Recreation Programmer - Teen Programming job is available with the City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department working with our Rising Stars Leadership Academy teen program and our Recreation Leader in Training program. This position will also be required to plan, coordinate, develop and implement various programming cross departmentally with a focus on community relations and customer service. In addition to recruiting, hiring, training, and developing part-time staff, they will also be responsible for managing volunteer and contract employees.   • Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of recreational, educational, leisure, athletic programs and life skill development for teens
  • Coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public
  • Participate in the development and implementation of program components for youth by providing effective, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate activities
  • Plan and facilitate activities for teens across all 22 community centers including development of lesson plans, registration process, communication with parents, supervising activities, supplies ordering, maintaining contracts with outside vendors and invoicing for their services
  • Develop recreation, educational and life skills programs for at-risk youth and young adults
  • Provide support and mentoring through engaging youth in programs and services
  • Provide appropriate supervision for youth at all times; create safe spaces to talk and demonstrate self-expression through group, recreational, educational and life skill activities
  • Devise and adhere to program budget across all activities and programs
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees
  • Participate in outreach events to develop partnerships and promote services offered with the City of Fort Worth
  • Participate and possibly lead a committee of your colleagues to ensure we are bringing the best programs and practices to the City of Fort Worth
  • Seek alternate funding sources such as grants or sponsorships where applicable
  • Recruit and maintain outside contracts based on City needs for dynamic programming
  • Assists with set up and break down of rooms and/or facilities when programming requires
  • Other related duties as assigned
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Sports Management, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in community center service or recreational programming experience
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Must be able to pass physical & drug screen
  • Curriculum development, specifically pertaining to middle school and high school age students
  • One (1) year of experience supervising staff
  • Proficient technical skills, including Microsoft Office, Canva and social media platforms, to create marketing materials and experiences utilizing social media
  • Strong social media and content creation skills along with the ability to coordinate with community partners for marketing and outreach
  • Experience recruiting participants and hiring and training staff
  • Experience using Active Net or other similar recreation software
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
