About The Position

Matthews International is seeking a qualified Senior Quality Control Inspector to work in our Production Facility in the Richmond, IN area for our memorialization business segment. The Senior Quality Control Inspector is responsible for testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process. This position will work primarily on the production floor, inspecting parts and conducting audits thru the production process with our Press / Stamping Machines. The Senior Quality Inspector compiles, evaluates and presents statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products, recommending methods for improvement to management. This position ensures quality control and quality assurance to produce products consistent with established standards.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of previous quality control experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Examine products at various stages in the production process to identify defects.
  • Conduct in depth inspection of interior, exterior, hardware, packaging, text, design, etc.
  • Complete appropriate testing of products and evaluate/improve testing procedures.
  • Conduct audits on parts thru the entire production process.
  • Document all defects; give clear, concise instructions indicating necessary repairs and recommendations.
  • Reroute defected projects to appropriate team member or location for correction.
  • Supply appropriate information to management, supervision or department staff if a defect is found.
  • Complete root cause analysis to determine the source of product defects.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of products.
  • Support and manage the company quality business systems.
  • Ensure product meets all quality specifications and established standards.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
