About The Position

Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Quality Analyst at our Burbank, CA location. Job Summary: The Quality Analyst role is to plan, design, develop, launch and maintain efficient quality and operational systems in support of core business functions. Serving as a strategic quality resource for Crane Business Systems and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of the marketplace and manufacturing technologies
  • Familiarity with quality metrics in an Aerospace environment; Knowledge of the latest quality science tools including, FMEA, GR&R, Control plans, Capability study and reduction of variations
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Exposure to lean concepts (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Leadership, 5S, etc)
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field; Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Effective and consistent decision making skills
  • Ability to work multiple problems/issues simultaneously
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and produce results in multifunctional teams in a dynamic work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • AA in technical discipline
  • This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Nice To Haves

  • ASQC certifications and knowledge of SPC
  • Previous experience working in regulated environment with a preference of FAA CFR 14 part 21 and part 145
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification (black belt or green belt)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Quality Director and other leadership team members to determine annual quality objectives
  • Implement and maintain a Quality Scorecard that monitors Quality Metrics, and other metrics that track the general performance of the Quality site performance
  • Support supplier Quarterly/Annual Business Reviews, monitor corrective action status, and drive continuous improvement
  • Liaise with site Quality teams and suppliers to assure that quality issues are addressed and corrective actions are in place and being properly managed to assure root cause analysis and corrective action reporting
  • Conduct assessments of quality system and process control capability
  • Partner with Quality Engineers assigned to factories/suppliers to drive RCCA responses
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
  • Prepare management reports and presentations regarding quality status for the Burbank Manufacturing site
  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) and lead the Corrective Action Board
  • Actively engage and understand trends in the industry’s approach to quality and new approaches that may provide benefit to BU
