We are currently looking for a Sr. Purchasing & Inventory Manager to be based out of Dallas, TX. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, they will be responsible for leading the procurement function for the plastics BU (Nearly $500M worth of transactions).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in business or related field.
  • Certification for purchasing professional from the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) or equivalent.
  • 7-10 years' relevant working experience.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing or a business system-based company.
  • Proven knowledge of purchasing within an ERP system.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Actively oversee daily purchasing, to include plastic resin raw material procurement and delivery coordination to all plants.
  • Complete necessary internal commodity reporting and present commodity dashboard at bi-weekly meetings to corporate management team.
  • Support company SIOP by being responsible for overall inventory management with continuous improvements through safe operating practices, product availability, waste reduction, cost-saving initiatives, and cultural breakthroughs.
  • Manage, and supervise senior buyers responsible for the supply chain and procurement of materials in support of production processes for both PVC and HDPE.
  • Manage the Cycle Count process and actively implement process improvements.
  • Oversee the implementation of Atkore's new ERP system for over 10 active locations.
