Sr. Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer, Amazon Leo Propulsion
About The Position
Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. THE ROLE Have you wanted an opportunity to manufacture electric propulsion systems for an advanced satellite constellation? The Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer will develop, implement and refine processes used to fabricate and qualify electric propulsion systems. You will mentor colleagues within the team.
Requirements
- 6+ years supporting production in a manufacturing capacity or related field
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
Responsibilities
- Support architecture determination and designing the propulsion system configuration
- Provide input into designs to enhance manufacturability and reduce costs
- Develop and own inspection, manufacturing, qualification and acceptance tests including hardware and workflow design
- Design and carry out process development tests
- Process and interpret assembly and test results to generate design guidance.
- Coordinate with other Amazon Leo team members to establish a path towards volume production.
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
