About The Position

Mead & Hunt is looking for a talented, collaborative, and innovative problem-solver who wants to build a dynamic career in aviation planning with a nationally recognized company. This position will lead aviation planning projects in Mead & Hunt's southwest planning group with office locations in Sacramento, San Diego, Santa Rosa, or Ontario (CA); Seattle (WA); Denver (CO); Bloomington (MN); Lansing (MI); Chicago (IL); and Scottsdale (AZ). This exciting opportunity allows for professional growth and leadership through challenging and rewarding projects for a variety of aviation related clients and services.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in aviation planning, environmental planning, sustainability planning, transportation planning, urban planning, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience
  • Some travel will be required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Planning experience at non-hub, small, medium, and large hub airports
  • Serving as a leader on complex projects, including preparing and monitoring budgets, including overall responsibility for the profitability of assigned projects.
  • Performing lead functions with Client contacts and communications pertaining to specific projects
  • Leading research, analysis, and creation of aviation planning documents such as: master plans, terminal area plans, aviation system plans, strategic plans, economic impact studies, Part 150 noise compatibility studies, aviation sustainability plans, and/or environmental assessments
  • Leading business development pursuits and project interviews
  • Simulation modeling for aircraft operations, airfield vehicle movements, and/or airline passengers
  • Mentorship/Leadership of project teams and junior planning staff
  • Managing client and public communications
  • In-depth knowledge of FAA guidance and regulations
  • Experience working with clients and project stakeholders
  • Active industry involvement
  • AICP, AIA, AAAE, CM, PE or other relevant certification
